Kara Genre, LCSW, LAC

I work with primarily adults in individual therapy struggling with mental health concerns and/or substance use; however, I also do group therapy and couples counseling. The clients that I currently work with have a wide range of mental health concerns, which can include complex trauma histories and grief and loss. My work with my clients is built around my theoretical basis for my therapy style, which is person-centered. I believe that my clients are the experts on themselves. Through my knowledge of various tools and coping mechanisms I can help get them through the hardships and obstacles that they are encountering in their lives.

I have completed the Gottman Couples Counseling Curriculum, I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and I currently hold my licensure for addictions counseling.
