What is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)?

ADHD is a behavioral disorder that affects children, adolescents, and adults. This disorder is caused by an imbalance of chemical messengers in the brain resulting in the inattentive and hyperactive/impulsive behaviors. A person with ADHD may have trouble focusing on tasks and are easily distracted causing them to have a hard time in school or the workplace.  Also children with ADHD are often in more trouble in school due to lack of attention, impulsive behaviors, hyperactivity.

 

What are the common signs or symptoms of ADHD?

· Inability to pay close attention to detail

· Distracted by noise or activity easily

· Forgetfulness in daily activities

· Inability to finish tasks

· Fidgeting and squirming when seated
